What is Towson WebMail?
Townson’s webmail is web based email service is powered by Google, and provides students with Google-hosted email accounts. An Email system where a user may access their emails with a browser on any computer or device that’s connected to the web.
Access Your Email Account
Email is accessible once you have activated your NetID.
For Students
In partnership with Google, the university provides TU students with Google-hosted email accounts.
For Faculty/Staff
In partnership with Microsoft, the university provides TU faculty and staff with Microsoft Office 365-hosted email accounts.
What is Towson NetID?
A NetID is the core computing and email accounts assigned to each student at Towson University. Students, faculty, staff members, use a NetID. Your NetID and password allows you to access TU’s computing services.
NetID provides access including email, chat, web publishing, video conferencing, online file storage, wireless access services and access to lab and library computers.
How to Activate Towson Net ID (Students)
- You must submit your participation agreement and $300 fee before you can activate your NetID.
- Visit the NetID website
- Click on Activate a New NetID
- When prompted, enter following details:
– NetID Type: Student
– Last Name: enter your last name
– TUID: seven-digit Towson student ID number (Your student ID number is located on the Offer of Admission letter you received, If you cannot locate it, contact University Admissions at 410-704-2113)
– Date of Birth: date of birth. - Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
Change NetID Password?
If you want to change or reset your NetID password, Retrieve a forgotten NetID username please visit at Towson NetID Management webpage.
Towson Webmail Log in
- First open this webpage.
- Enter your Username (NetID) and Password.
- Then click on the “Log in” button.
Office 365 Login (Faculty/Staff)
- Visit at outlook.towson.edu
- Enter your E-mail Address or NetID (Username) and Password
- Then click on the “Log in” button.
How To Access in Towson Webmail Log in?
Ways to Log In:
Webmail is all online, so there’s nothing for your to set up. Simply log into using one of the Approaches below:
Option 1: Direct Login
- Open your Browser In your PC or Laptop.
- Visit at webmail.towson.edu
- Enter your Username (NetID) and Password.
- Then click on the “Log in” button.
Configuring Email for Native Mail App iOS devices
- Go to iPhone settings option.
- Click Passwords & Accounts.
- Tap Add Account
- Select Exchange and enter below details:
– Email: enter your Towson University email address
– Description: enter a name for your mailbox. - Then click on Next
- The Password field will appear. Enter your password to your Towson University email.
- Click on Next
- Next, the Server Settings screen will appear enter following details:
– Server: outlook.office365.com
– Username: enter your Towson University email address.
– Password: enter your Password to your Towson University email. - Click on Next.
- You are then given the option of choosing what you would like to sync with Exchange: Mail,
Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, and Notes - Press Save to finalize your changes, your mail will automatically download

Towson Email Configuration (For Faculty and Staff) Android Devices
- Step 1
Open Email application in your android device - Step 2
From the Set up account screen, Click the ADD NEW ACCOUNT button. - Step 3
Enter your Towson Email address and your password. - Step 4
Click on MANUAL SETUP - Step 5
Select Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync - Step 6
The EXCHANGE SERVER SETTINGS window will appear. Replace the text in the Domain\username box with your Towson email address. - Step 7
Under SERVER SETTINGS, enter outlook.office365.com. - Step 8
Select Use secure connection (SSL) option - Step 9
A Remote security administration dialog box may appear. Press OK. - Step 10
A DEVICE ADMINISTRATOR dialog box may appear. Press ACTIVATE. You should now be connected to your Towson email.
Combining Email in the Outlook App
- Step 1
Open the Outlook app - Step 2
Click the Accounts in the upper left-hand corner beside Inbox. - Step 3
Click on the Settings - Step 4
Tap Add Mail Account. If prompted, press Add Email Account. - Step 5
Type your Gmail address and press tap Account. - Step 6
You’ll be redirected to the Google Accounts screen. If you don’t have your account listed, press Use another account. - Step 7
- Type your Gmail address and tap Next.
- Step 8
Enter your password and click Next. - Step 9
Click on Allow, on Permissions screen - Step 10
Your Gmail account is now added to the Outlook app. By default, your accounts will be combined on the
Outlook Home Screen.
Configuring Email in the iOS Mail App
- Step 1
Open the Settings. - Step 2
Click on Passwords & Accounts - Step 3
Click Add Account. - Step 4
Select Google. - Step 5
Enter your Gmail address and click Next. - Step 6
Enter your password and click Next. - Step 7
Select which services you would like to sync from your Gmail account and then click Save.
Combining Email in the Android Mail App
- Step 1
Open Email app - Step 2
Click on the Triple line button - Step 3
Then click on the Settings button. - Step 4
Click Add Account. - Step 5
Select Gmail G Suite. - Step 6
Enter your Gmail address and click Next. - Step 7
Enter your password and click Next. - Step 8
Press Allow on Permissions screen - Step 9
Your Gmail account is now added to the Email app. By default, your accounts will be combined on the Email
