What is BSU WebMail?
BSU Webmail is an email service which may be accessed using a standard web browser. It contrasts with email support reachable through a specialized email customer software.
An Email system where a user may access their emails with a browser on any computer or device that’s connected to the web.
BSU Email Account
Ball State students, faculty, and staff are all issued a Ball State e-mail account. Ball State e-mail accounts are used by the university for official communication. The Ball State e-mail account may also be referred to as an Office 365 account.
Using your Ball State account you can also be used to access many online Ball State resources and systems.
Set Up Your Ball State Username and Password
To set up your Ball State username and password, follow the instructions that were emailed to you by the Technology HelpDesk upon admission.
BSU Webmail Log in
- First open this webpage.
- Enter your email and click on next button
- Then enter your password
- Then click on the Log in button.
Forgot Password?
- If you have trouble in to sign in, click on Having trouble signing in? link on login page.
- Then click on Password Reset
- Enter your username and you will be sent an email message with further instructions.

Log in to alumni iConnect e-mail
- First open this webpage.
- Enter your email and click on next button
- Then enter your password
- Then click on the Log in button.
Course Registration
Step 1: View Your Time Ticket and Check Your Registration Status and Curriculum Information
- Visit my.bsu.edu and login with your username and password.
- Click on SSB-Self-Service Banner
- Click on the Student tab.
- Then click on Registration.
- Click on Registration Status.
- Select the term and click Submit.
- You will see your time ticket. If all of the bullet points show green check marks, you will be ready to register for classes when your time ticket opens.
- If not, please resolve the issue(s) prior to registration.
- Under Curriculum Information check to make sure that your major and minor are listed correctly. If not, please contact your Academic Advisor immediately before you register for classes.
- Proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Search for Class Days and Times
- Click on the Student tab.
- Click on Registration.
- Then click on Look Up Classes.
- Select the term and click Submit.
- Click on Advanced Search.
- Select the course subject that you want to search for and any additional criteria and click on Section Search.
- If you find a section (day/time) that you like, write the red CRN (5-digit course reference number) at the top of your scheduling worksheet and enter the days and times in the Week At a Glance section to avoid time conflicts.
- To view the course description, prerequisites, restrictions, and co-requisites/labs, click on the red CRN and then click on View Catalog Entry.
- Continue searching for your class days/times by clicking on New Search or simply click the back button of your internet browser.
- Make sure you have all of your CRNs listed on your scheduling worksheet before logging out.
Step 3: Register for Classes (will start with your time ticket)
- Go to my.bsu.edu and login.
- Click on SSB-Self-Service Banner.
- Click on Student.
- Then Click on Registration.
- Click on Course Add/Drop/Withdrawal.
- Select the term and click Submit.
- Enter ALL of your CRNs in the spaces under Add Classes Worksheet and click Submit Changes.
- You will find out immediately if you are registered for those courses or if there are any issues with the courses you selected. If there are issues, you can resolve them immediately.
- Once your schedule is complete, go to the Student tab, then click on Registration and click on Week at a Glance or View My Schedule to view and print your schedule for the next semester.
Adding your Ball State email account to Outlook in MacOS
- Open the Outlook app
- If you first time using the app then a popup will appear asking you to input your email address:
- If you not first time using this app, please select Outlook in the upper left-hand corner.
- Then select Preferences.
- Choose the Account tab and then Add Account.
- Enter your Ball State email
- Select Continue and you will be redirected to the red MyBSU login screen. Login as you normally would to access Ball State resources, including Duo Two-Factor authentication.
Once this has been done, your account will appear in the left sidebar of the program and will be ready to use.
Adding Ball State account to the default Mac OS Mail App
- Step 1
Open the Mail app - Step 2
If you first time using this app then a popup will appear asking you to select an account type: - Step 3
If this is not your first time using this app, please select Mail then select Add Account. - Step 4
Select Exchange - Step 5
Click Continue - Step 6
Next enter following details:
Name: enter your name
Email: enter your Ball State email address - Step 7
Click on Sign In - Step 8
You will be prompted to sign into an Exchange account. Once again, click Sign In
select Work or School Account, if prompted - Step 9
Then MyBSU login page will appear, login using your username and password. - Step 10
After a successful login, you will be asked to choose what MacOS programs you would like to sync with the account. Choose any you would like to use with the account
Once this has been done, your account will appear in the left sidebar of the program and will be ready to use.
